I get asked about partner codes constantly. Same question every time: do they give you free trades or discounted spreads?
Nope. AvaTrade charges zero commission on forex. You pay the spread. That's the cost. A partner code won't affect it.
The code 128979 activates the bonus program. Bonus money added to your account based on deposit size. Nothing more complicated than that.
What's the bonus amount?
$1,000 deposit adds $200.
Put in $2,000, get $400.
Deposits between $5,000 and $9,999 get $1,000.
Deposit $100,000+ and you can get up to $14,000. Not many traders reach that level.
UK traders funding in pounds start at £160 on £800. Goes to £11,200 at the top.
You can open an account with $100. But you need $1,000 to qualify for bonus.
The code field isn't obvious
When you're signing up. Once you've filled in your phone number, look for small text that says "Have a Partner Code?" with an arrow next to it. Click on that text. A field drops down. Type **128979**.
People overlook it constantly because it's hidden.
If the system rejects it, don't panic. Go ahead and register anyway. Contact support before funding. Ask them avatrade partner code to add code 128979. They handle this regularly.
The bonus has conditions
There's a volume requirement.
Roughly 10,000 units traded per $1 bonus. $200 bonus requires 2,000,000 units of trading volume. Takes a while if you trade small. Happens faster than you'd think if you're active.
Your deposit is yours. Take it out anytime. The bonus stays locked until you hit the volume.
Worth mentioning: the bonus adds to your available margin even when locked. Allows for slightly larger trades. That breathing room helps while you're learning.
